Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has been named the co-chair of the 2016 Republican National Convention Committee on Resolutions, commonly known as the Platform Committee.

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced the leadership on Tuesday. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming will serve as Chairman of the Committee. Governor Mary Fallin of Oklahoma and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx of North Carolina will serve as Co-Chairs.

“Senator Barrasso, Governor Fallin, and Congresswoman Foxx have been dedicated leaders in our Party for many years, and I am proud to have them heading up the Platform Committee,” said Chairman Priebus. “I know they will bring their good judgment and a principled vision for our Party and our country into this role. Writing the platform is a critical task, and as we enter one of the most important elections of our lifetime, our Party is eager to lead an American resurgence by standing on our commitment to life, individual liberty, a strong national defense, and an economy that works for all Americans.”

“It is my privilege to be serving on this Committee,” said Co-Chair Fallin. “We are going to honor the will of Republican voters everywhere and write a platform that articulates the solutions America needs after eight years of a sputtering economy, more debt, out of control government, and a foreign policy of leading from behind.”
