Teen Accidentally Shot By Gun Found At Metro Estate Sale

John Thepachanh says he took his son, London, and nephew to an estate sale this weekend in search of a mattress but they found much more.

London says when he was moving a mattress, he found a box underneath it with a gun inside.

“The estate people told me they were supposed to clear out all the guns at the time,” said Thepachanh.

But the estate company says they never checked in between the mattress. At first glance, London said he thought the gun was a toy.

“It was like a double barreled thing. It was kind of small,” said London.

He said he was examining it in his hands when the gun suddenly fired, hitting his cousin.

“I was just gripping it and it made a loud pop,” London said.

“Oh crap! It scared the crap outta me,” said Thepachanh.

The 4/10 shell projected pellets across the wall and into his cousin’s chest, sending him to the hospital.

“I felt so bad, I felt so guilty. I was scared I shot him. I couldn’t believe it,” said London.

Family members say the victim is out of the hospital now, but still has some pellets in his chest.
