Jenks head football coach Allan Trimble will retire in July.

The hall of fame coach will finish his career with a state record of 13 championships.

Trimble has served 20 years as the man in charge of one of the most prestigious programs around, wrapping his career with over 230 wins.

Former Union and University of Tulsa head coach Bill Blankenship coached against Trimble and nothing but good things to say about him.

"I have great respect and admiration for that man, even though he was the architect of a lot of sorrow inflicted on me and my teams,” said Blankenship. “What a run!”

Broken Arrow head coach David Alexander, who spent seven years on Trimble's staff before moving and joining the Tigers, also shared his thoughts.

"My first thought is what a great influence he has been on so many young people. Second is, dadgummit now I'm mad again we didn't win that championship game," he said. "I'm going to miss competing against him."

Union head coach Kirk Fridrich felt similar.

"My first reaction is it's disappointing to hear because he has done so much for high school football," Fridrich said of Trimble. "The wins are an amazing accomplishment, but being a man of character and knowing the impact he has had on kids... He will be missed."

Jenks Public Schools released the following statement about Trimble:

"Allan Trimble has achieved an unprecedented level of success as the head football coach at Jenks High School. Beyond leading the Trojans to 13 state championships and becoming one of the elite high school football coaches in the nation, Coach Trimble has left a positive, lasting impact on the lives of thousands of students and young men. He is a mentor, a role model, a teacher, and an outstanding example of leadership and humility.

Coach Trimble’s efforts both on and off the field, have helped create a tradition of excellence and generated an incredible amount of pride for the entire Jenks community. He has left a lasting legacy at Jenks Public Schools and he will be missed.

The process to identify a replacement will begin immediately. It is extremely important to carry on the proud tradition of Jenks Trojan football and continue to build on the success created by Coach Trimble."
