A woman who was sexually assaulted by a well-known musician at the Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa spoke out in a news conference.

Shelby Pfeffer says she decided to come forward after her attacker was convicted of the crime in a Rogers County court earlier this week.

Pfeffer says musician Scott Bennett sexually assaulted her in his hotel room in 2014. Bennett was in town playing with Brian Wilson.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced Bennett to five years in prison.

At a news conference in California on Wednesday, Pfeffer was accompanied by her attorney, Gloria Allred.

"She decided that she wanted to speak out today, and I believe that is the right decision for her," Allred said.

Prosecutors said Bennett encountered Pfeffer in an elevator, blocked her from exiting and took her to his room. She had been drinking, and surveillance video shows her fall to the floor and Bennett start to assault her in the hallway of the hotel. Security guards saw the attack after Pfeffer's boyfriend reported her missing.

"I have gathered every ounce of strength I had in me to fight - not only for myself, but for other young women as well," she said.

Pfeffer drew similarities to Stanford swimmer Brock Turner's rape case, saying she was incapacitated when Bennett assaulted her. Unlike the Stanford case, she feels satisfied with her attacker's punishment, Pfeffer said.
