Hundreds cooled off from the summer heat in Tulsa on Saturday by riding an inner tube down Main Street for an event called "Slide the City."
The slide travels all around the country, and organizers had to deal with a taste of Oklahoma weather.
Sliders waited anxiously for the wind to calm down so they could cool down.
"We actually had the wind pick up and take the whole slide with it before we could get water on it,” event director Chris Conran said.
But once the water started flowing, the fun began.
The slide is the length of three football fields, and some have a strategy to get down safely while having fun.
"Get a good running start and then just... plank! Kind of keep your feet off of bottom of the track," slider Aaron Morse said.
"Superman! Legs up, arms up,” Shannon Taylor said.
Katzee Reese, her sister and their friend traveled about an hour to get to the slide.
"We got out here at about 11 to try to beat the lines, and that was pretty worth it to get out a little earlier,” Reece said.
Some of Saturday's proceeds will go toward the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Tulsa.
The slide is heading to Dallas next.
