A stationary thunderstorm dumped more than six inches of rain in Pawnee County Friday morning, causing some flooding.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Pawnee County.  It says there are reports of six inches of water on roads in Pawnee and rising water threatened at least one home on the north side of the city according to the sheriff's office.

The Pawnee City Library reported several inches of water inside their building in the 600 block of Illinois Street.

Weather Alerts

The sheriff's office says so far there have been no water rescues but city and county officials are monitoring the situation.

The National Weather Service says communities east of Pawnee including Maramec and Skedee could also experience flooding due to the amount of rain which has fallen.
