Bixby's Annual Freedom Celebration Becoming A New Tradition For Many

Posted: Updated:
BIXBY, Oklahoma -

Independence Day came early to Bixby for the town’s Freedom Celebration Friday night.

Thousands of people came out to enjoy family, friends and, of course, fireworks.

This is the second year Bixby has hosted its Freedom Celebration, and they couldn’t have asked for a better time.

“Food is awesome, there are a lot of things to do for the kids; it’s for every age level, that’s what we enjoy,” said Vanna Patel.

People celebrated their freedom, thanked those that defend it, and spent time with loved ones who make it all worthwhile.

No matter what the reason people came, the Bixby Freedom Celebration was the place they wanted to be this year.

Orlando Juarez said, "Whenever you talk about patriotism, and God, and America, it just kind of works together, and it's a great feeling. You want to be a part of that."

"It's so new to us that it's become a family thing. And now, people are bringing their kids, and I see babies and they're going to grow up coming to this every year, and it's just really cool how it becomes a tradition," Victoria Juarez said.
