Hot And Humid Saturday, Rain Sunday For Oklahoma

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

First of all, I hope you have a fun and safe Independence Day Weekend!

Saturday will be warm and humid. Highs should reach into the mid-90s with heat index values topping out near 100. A cool front approaching will develop showers and storms across western Oklahoma this evening and they will try to move east into our area tonight.

By sunrise, rain chances will increase across Green Country. The cool front will slowly sag south, moving through the metro in the afternoon.

Heavy rain and storms are expected Sunday. A few storms could reach severe criteria with a wind and hail threat. Stay weather aware when spending time outdoors.

Highs Sunday will be in the low 90s but heat index values should once again be around 100. Rain chances will lessen as we head into Independence Day. For northeastern Oklahoma, chances are better in the morning which will be good for fireworks celebrations later that day. Chances for rain still stay in the forecast for southeastern Oklahoma during the day and in the evening.

Highs on the 4th of July will be the coolest of the week.
