Rogers County Woman Arrested After Drugs Found In FedEx Package

Tuesday, an undercover investigator with the Rogers County THUG Task Force pretended to be a delivery driver to arrest a woman they say received meth through FedEx.

The officer was wearing camera glasses which show him approaching the house, leaving the package on the porch, knocking on the door then walking away before the woman opened the door.

"We had surveillance on the house and the female looked outside, then looked down the street, both ways, before getting the package and she went back inside," the officer said.

It all started when a TPD drug dog alerted on a package in a FedEx warehouse. Officers got a warrant to open the package and found a half-pound of meth and some marijuana.

The package was addressed to a Claremore residence, so Tulsa police called Claremore police and the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators there set up surveillance, picked up the drugs, borrowed a van and created the fake identity to make the delivery.

When they arrested Janie Drake, she had three small children inside her home and said she appeared under the influence. She admitted to having used recently.

The officer said, "It's sad. They'll do it in front of their kids, put their kids in danger, lots of times. They'll test positive for meth, just being around it."

"This is all a big misunderstanding," Drake said.

Even though she told the officers it was a mistake, they said she admitted she had meth in her pocket when they booked her into jail moments later.

The investigators hope this sends a message to people shipping their drugs that they can't do it on the highways or through UPS or FedEx.

Officer also arrested Lisa Swisher and Mike Anthony Evans. They said the two went by Drake's home to get drugs.
