Igor Ibaka To Transfer From Oklahoma State

Igor Ibaka will transfer from the Oklahoma State basketball team, a spokesman confirmed on Thursday. Serge’s younger brother played sparingly last year averaging 0.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in seven games.

The 6-foot-7 forward would’ve been one of three seniors along with Phil Forte and Leyton Hammonds. His loss leaves the Cowboy frontcourt dangerously thin with Mitch Solomon and Hammonds the only returning forwards with experience.

First-year head coach Brad Underwood got a late addition to the 2016 recruiting class in Juco forward Tyrek Coger and Oklahoma State will need Coger to contribute immediately.

There has been no announcement where Ibaka plans to transfer. Serge, of course, is in Orlando after being traded from the Thunder on draft night.
