Hostage Situation, Standoff Ends With Tulsa Man's Arrest

TULSA, Oklahoma -

A Tulsa man is behind bars after a three-hour standoff on Friday night.

Police say they arrested 23-year-old Steven Matias for kidnapping and false impersonation.

He’s accused of holding a hostage at gunpoint about 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of Maybelle Ave.

Officers contacted Matias and negotiated the hostages’ release. Matias was arrested trying to escape soon afterward.

He is being held on a $54,000 bond in the Tulsa County jail.

No one was injured during the incident.
