No Major Changes Expected In Green Country Weather

Good morning.   First up, thanks to Mike and Stacia for their most excellent work on the morning show this past week.  Now to the weather.

The short-term pattern will represent a fairly consistent forecast for the next few days. Morning lows in the mid-70s will be followed by highs in the mid-90s.   And the mention for a few storms will remain, especially late night and early morning, across part of northern OK. Heat index values will be moving into the 100 to 106 range soon before dropping a few degrees by the end of the week.

This morning some weak forcing is moving across western OK and Kansas and will produce some scattered to isolated storms.  These will move east but will more than likely dissipate before reaching our immediate area of concern.  A weak mid-level trough located across far northeastern TX may also produce a few storms across southeastern OK this afternoon but the chances will remain low

A powerful upper level system will move across the high plains while dragging a cold front southward near the state Tuesday night into Wednesday and then again Thursday and Friday. These chances will remain somewhat low but will be enough to bring a few storms into the state, more so across the northern sections of the state into southeastern Kansas. The threat for a few strong to severe storms will remain present due to the influence of our thermal profile combined with significant low level moisture.

The mid-term data also suggest our main ridge of high pressure that is common for this time of the year will make a returning appearance by late this weekend.  This will shut-off the precipitation chances and bring the potential for the hottest temperatures of the season next week for a few days.

Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day.
