The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a person of interest after a deadly shooting Monday morning near Luther.

It happened about 4 a.m. at a mobile home just north of Luther on NE 234 Street near North Triple X Road. Deputies say 22-year-old Tyler Muck got into a fight with a woman at the home.

According to a spokesman, 25-year-old William Haywood stepped in and began fighting with Muck.

At some point, investigators say Muck was fatally shot, and Haywood took off in Muck's Hyundai.

The Hyundai was found about a mile and a half away just west of Wellston. Deputies searched the area near the car but didn't find Haywood.

Neighbors say they were told by the local fire department to keep their doors closed and locked.

"(My) first concern was that's too close to home," said neighbor Lon Winton. "My first concern here was for my neighbor because I was afraid someone had tried to break in."

Deputies say they don't believe Haywood is still in the area.

Neighbors say they're surprised by the crime and that this isn't the type of community where things like this happen.

"Most people are very friendly,” Winton said. “Typically wave at each other when they drive down the highway."

Several warrants have been issued against Haywood including auto theft and illegal possession of a gun.

As far as the shooting, deputies say at this point they just want to talk with Haywood.

If anyone knows where he is, they are asked to call the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office at (405)-713-1017.
