A 33-year-old Tulsa man is in jail after throwing a knife which struck his three-year-old son in the chest Thursday afternoon.

Police say the Levi Cartwright was arguing with his wife in a bedroom at the Lewiston Apartments in the 5200 block of South Lewis at around 2:30 p.m.

Officers said during the fight, Cartwright picked up an open folding knife and threw it at his wife.  The knife missed her, but struck the boy in the chest area.  EMSA took the child to the hospital in serious condition.

After interviewing Cartwright and his wife, he was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail on an assault with a dangerous weapon complaint.
