Tokyo In Tulsa Brings Japanese Culture To Cox Business Center

A sampling of Japanese culture is taking over the Cox Business Center in downtown Tulsa this weekend.

Tokyo in Tulsa is an annual festival celebrating different parts of Japanese entertainment and history.

More than 10,000 people are taking in a weekend full of costume contests, games, guest speakers and classes.

Organizers say it is about more than just the fun and games, and that they hope people can also learn about the rich Japanese culture.

"We're introducing language, and not just, you know, throwing a big party. We want to people to realize that learning is fun," said Tokyo in Tulsa founder, James Fowler.

Doors open Saturday at 10 a.m.
