Man Critical After He Was Struck Walking On A Tulsa Highway

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Police say a man walked into oncoming traffic on Highway 169 Saturday morning and was struck by a northbound pickup.

Officers said the crash involved a truck pulling a trailer northbound near 71st Street South at around 10:15 a.m.

EMSA took the unidentified man to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition with multiple internal and external injuries, according to police.

The pickup driver and passenger were not injured.

Police say right now they don't know why the man stepped out into traffic after he apparently got out of a Dodge Caliber parked on the northbound shoulder of the highway, but they continue to investigate.
