Stilwell Man Charged With Internet Stalking Of A Minor

A Stilwell man was arrested in Arkansas after he allegedly tried to set up a meeting in Fort Smith to have sex with a minor.

Fort Smith Police told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, James Bottoms, 60, placed an online ad on a website seeking sex with a young male.

Undercover officers responded to the ad posing as a minor, who was younger than 15.  Bottoms communicated with the undercover officers and arranged to meet the juvenile at a Fort Smith park.

James Bottoms was taken into custody by undercover officers as he waited for the juvenile to arrive.

Bottoms, who was charged with one count of Internet stalking of a child, is being held in the Sebastian County Detention Center without bond.
