It's a great day for the pool, but wear sunscreen and drink water!
TULSA, Oklahoma -
Hope you're ready for heat, heat and more heat this week. Highs today are pointed towards 97. Maximum afternoon heat index around 105.
Remember: beat the heat, check the backseat. Don't leave kids or animals in the car.
Mostly clear skies tonight should allow temperatures to continue to fall into the mid to upper 70s, but we'll have a good south breeze overnight that will keep them from falling any further. Tomorrow afternoon will be identical to today.
It changes up on Tuesday with a slight chance of showers or storms in far southeastern Oklahoma. If they develop, it will be in the higher terrain areas.
Partly cloudy skies will help keep daytime highs in the mid-90s however higher dew points will put afternoon heat index values near 107. Then it's only up from there.
Highs for the end of the week will be in the triple digits. Dangerous heat index values around 110. We will probably have several days this week with heat advisories or even heat warnings issued.
