Tulsa police have a robbery suspect in custody following a short chase Tuesday evening.

Police said the robbery unit was watching a Metro PCS store at 67th and Lewis, looking for a cell phone store robber.

They said the suspect entered the store and attempted to rob it before he led police on a chase.

Officers said they went down 61st Street, then up to Harvard Avenue before the suspect turned east on 51st Street. They said the chase ended at the Fontana Shopping Center near 7800 East 51st.

During the chase, police said the suspect vehicle crashed into a patrol car, causing it to wreck while the suspect continued to drive.

Police took the suspect into custody and is being questioned. They also said the suspect had guns in the vehicle.

No names have been released at this time.
