Tulsa Chosen To Be Part Of ‘100 Resilient Cities’ Initiative

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa is now part of an effort to make the city better prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century.

The Rockefeller Foundation chose Tulsa to be a part of its 100 Resilient Cities initiative.

Staff members are working with the city on a survey that will prioritize the challenges. It could be anything from crime, education, and poverty - to infrastructure or the impact of storms.

Mary Kell with the City of Tulsa said, "What's our disaster recovery plan, what's our mitigation plan, to, what are we going to do afterward? What are we going to do beforehand to let people know they're in a vulnerable area for flooding, or, you know, power outages."

Anyone living in a 60-mile radius is welcome to take the survey. It stays active until August 23rd.

A team will take the survey results and develop a plan aimed at making Tulsa more resilient.
