Tulsa Ballet Adds Finishing Touches To New Dance Center In Broken Arrow

BROKEN ARROW -

The Tulsa Ballet is putting its finishing touches on a brand new dance school in Broken Arrow.

Artistic director Marcello Angelini says the new Hardesty Center for Dance Education, located on Aspen and New Orleans Street, will open in August.

Classes are already filling up.

"When you have this kind of building, our reputation and stellar faculty, there is an expectation that when you build it, people will come. And they are coming,” said Angelini.

The school, Angelini explains, was made possible by donations.

The Hardesty Foundation donated the property nearly 14 acres, philanthropist Ann Graves gave a large sum for construction and the architects designed it for free.

There are four studios in the 21,000 square-foot facility, all designed to be filled with natural light, complete with state-of-the-art flooring.

Then there's the piece de resistance, as Angelini calls it the theater, designed for small, intimate performances.

You can learn more about the school on July 30th.

If you'd like to see the center for yourself, you and your family can attend a free public open house complete with free ballet performances.
