Storms With Heavy Rain, Lightning Move Across Eastern Oklahoma

Storms moved across the Tulsa metro Saturday morning and into eastern Oklahoma, leaving behind flooded streets.  The storms are expected to leave Green Country by mid afternoon leading to mostly cloudy skies for the rest of the day.

The main area for storms Saturday afternoon will shift to southern Oklahoma, mainly south of Interstate-40.   A few strong storms could be possible with heavy rain, small hail and lightning.  As the storms collapse, you could have some gusty winds.

Saturday night and into Sunday morning, the better chances for showers and storms will be in far northeastern Oklahoma. 

A warm front will be lifting north Saturday and that will shift the focus of showers and storms northward. 

Sunday, we should be warmer yet with highs in the mid to upper 90s. A few afternoon storms will be possible once again mainly east of Tulsa.

High pressure aloft will settle back in starting on Sunday and that means conditions will become dangerously hot once again this week. Highs around 100 for the middle of the week with heat index values topping out around 105 to 109 most days.
