Six people - including three children - were taken to the hospital after a head-on crash in Mayes County. Troopers say a car crossed the center line and hit another car while driving on Highway 82 near Spavinaw.

The wreck left three people including two boys, ages 7 and 12, in critical condition.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said the wreck took place just before 5 p.m. Saturday. James Thompson of Spavinaw was driving southbound on the highway when he crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car.  That car had two adults and three children from Locust Grove, all of whom were injured.

Driver David McFadden, 32, was pinned in the car for an unknown amount of time before being freed by Spavinaw firefighters. He was taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in critical condition with internal injuries. Mary McFadden, 26, was hospitalized with external injuries. She is said to be stable.

A 12-year-old boy and 7-year-old boy were both life-flighted to Tulsa and are in critical condition. A 4-year-old girl was flown to Tulsa where she is said to be stable.

Thompson, 69, was hospitalized with arm and external injuries.
