Tulsa police say an innocent bystander was hit by a bullet following a shooting near Harvard and Elgin.

Church members said the woman was sitting in her van when a bullet struck her.

Sergeant Kurt Dodd said officers responded to the 2200 block of North Harvard Avenue Wednesday night.

He said police believe a shooting started at a nearby gas station and one of the rounds went across the street and hit the woman who was standing in the World Won Church parking lot on North Harvard.

The church group said they just wrapped up their Wednesday night Bible study when the shooting started.

"She was talking and she was up, just moving around kind of. She was just in shock that she had been hit, you know. Just unbelievable, you're leaving from a church Bible study service and then you get hit by a bullet," said church member Joyce Cooper.

According to police, the woman was grazed by the bullet. They said it was found in her clothing at the ER.

Police are searching for the people involved in the shooting. They say witness saw a silver car driving away after the shooting.
