Tulsa Man Sentenced To Life In Death Of 14-Year-Old Girl

A man convicted of the murder of a 14-year-old girl was sentenced Tuesday afternoon.

David Ruble was sentenced to life without parole for murder and ten years for conspiracy.

A jury convicted Ruble in May of this year in the death of 14-year-old April Montano in 2014. Montano died after being shot while riding on the Gilcrease Expressway on May 29, 2014.

Prosecutors said it was a botched robbery.

The Montano family was on their way home on the Gilcrease Expressway when Montano’s father realized the vehicle was being hit by bullets and April was hit and killed.

Prosecutors say Ruble and two other men – Travis Lozada and Demonte Rushing – wanted to steal the family’s four-wheelers.
