Tulsa police arrested a man near 39th West Avenue and West 8th Street Monday morning after they said he fired a shot that nearly hit a young child. Police said the bullets went all the way into a neighbor's house, almost striking an infant girl.

Police arrested 35-year-old Albert Clarence Jackson. He was in his home and told police he fired a shot around 5:15 a.m., thinking someone was trying to break into his house.

Jackson fired two shotgun slugs from inside his house out one of his windows, according to police, who say both slugs went through the neighbor's home.

The neighbor told News On 6 one round nearly hit her pregnant daughter who was lying down as well as the little girl. One bullet lodged in a chair.

When officers arrived on scene, they heard another gunshot. That's when they found Jackson with his wife and their toddler-aged son. The couple came out with their hands in the air, and officers questioned Jackson before taking him into custody.

He was agitated and yelling at police as they put him into handcuffs and loaded him in a police cruiser.

Jackson was booked on a complaint of reckless handling of a firearm. No one was hurt.
