An earthquake struck Tuesday morning and rattled several residents of Chickasha.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 3.1-magnitude earthquake happened at 7:16 a.m. Tuesday.
The survey's preliminary report was released Tuesday afternoon and said the quake's epicenter was about three miles east, southeast of Chickasha, 27 miles west, southwest of Norman and 36 miles south, southwest of Oklahoma City.
The earthquake was about two and half miles deep.
Several Chickasha residents called News 9 shortly after the quake was felt and others took to social media to ask if an earthquake was reported in the area.
