OKC Mother Dies After Trying To Save Child In 3-Alarm Fire

Donna Burrell, the mother who ran back into her burning Oklahoma City apartment to try and save her 4-year-old son, has died.

Firefighters answered the call of a fire at the London Square Apartments early Tuesday morning. Burrell was home with her three children when the fire started.

She was able to save her two youngest children first. When she ran back inside the burning apartment for her 4-year-old son, Zcarice Zeus Moore, they didn't come out until firefighters pulled them out.

Moore was pronounced dead at OU Children's Hospital from smoke inhalation.

Burrell's mother, Katrina, asked us to relay a message for her.

“Thank you for your prayers and keep praying. We need all the strength we can get.”
