The highest rank a Boy Scout can reach is Eagle Scout, and the final step in getting there involves a project.

One Bishop Kelley junior trying to reach the Eagle Scout rank decided to create a quiet space at Catholic Charities to honor the church's newest Saint.

A statue of Saint Teresa of Calcutta overlooks the front door of the health center that bears her name at Catholic Charities.

There’s a small meditation area that was created by Turner Snapp as his Eagle Scout project.

"Mother Teresa is such a great example of service without receiving anything in return," he said.

Snapp met with Deacon Kevin Sartorius, the executive director, to get some project ideas – and he had lots of choices.

Sartorius said, "We are so fortunate to have Eagle Scouts involved on our campus doing all kinds of projects for us."

Snapp said the hardest part was gathering all the materials.

He and his team created the bench and the pedestal for the statue in early August - they had to wait another month for the statue.

"Labor Day weekend I installed the statue," he said.

That same weekend Pope Francis made Mother Teresa, Saint Teresa, which made his choice of projects that much more special.

Snapp said he loves the way the statue turned out and hopes to be awarded his Eagle Scout rank next month.
