OK Organization Shining Light On Mental Illness This Week

<p>The Tulsa chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness kicked off Mental Illness Awareness Week Sunday.</p>

The Tulsa chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness kicked off Mental Illness Awareness Week Sunday.

A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night to remember those who have died as a result of mental illness.

There are several other events planned throughout the week, including a free lunch, a national day of prayer and a MIAW reception meet and greet.

The group will also have a “Lucy Booth” in various locations around downtown Tulsa.

  • October 3 - Free Lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bersen Community Life Center at 700 South Boston Avenue.
  • October 4 – National Day of Prayer
  • October 6 – MIAW Reception meet and greet from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Congregational Church at 2900 South Harvard Avenue.
