The initial 2014 investigation by Tulsa Police led them to believe the victim was an innocent bystander who was hit by gunfire during Marshall's dispute, but upon further investigation and interviewing witnesses, police learned the victim was actually involved in the dispute with Marshall.

Marshall was sentenced to 25 years in prison but received credit for time already served, and he will also pay more than $1,000 in fines.
