The suspect in a violent crime spree manages to elude authorities another day.

Michael Vance remains a fugitive -- wanted for killing his relatives and shooting four others including two police officers

State and federal agents are working vigorously to zero in on Vance.

He's been off the grid for more than 72 hours.

Wednesday, U.S. Marshals were chasing down leads in Lincoln County.

"He needs to be stopped immediately... this man has no regards for anything," said Jim Sproul.

Sproul is the son-in-law of Ronald and Valerie Kay Wilkson. They are lovingly known as Ronnie and Kay. They were found murdered in their home in Luther, Sunday.

Vance is accused of trying to decapitate his uncle, Ronnie and stabbing his aunt Kay to death, likely for a set of car keys.

Authorities say he was last seen driving their silver 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse with OK tag 943-LQQ, early Monday morning.

His run from the law began Sunday night.

Investigators say Vance grabbed an AK- 47 and started shooting at Wellston Police when they asked if he was a convicted felon.

The officers were responding to a “shots fired” call. A group, including Vance, were allegedly target practicing with several high-powered rifles at a home in Wellston.

Two officers were shot.

"In a case like this, dealing with a human being that is capable of doing that, you have to think of the worst case scenario," Sproul said he and his family are afraid Vance has plans to come back to cause more harm.

Many in the area are obviously worried about the same.

The Lincoln County Courthouse was on lockdown, Wednesday.

Luther Public School dismissed classes for Friday when the Wilksons funeral is scheduled.

The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service announced a joint investigation to apprehend Vance is underway.

Investigators have created a special hotline specifically for tips on Vance. It is manned 24/7 by U.S. Marshals. Anyone with information on Vance's whereabouts should call 405-246-9205.
