Storms Possible As Cool Front Moves Into Oklahoma

A cool front is making a move toward eastern Oklahoma, bringing with it a chance of storms tonight and, finally, some cooler air as well!

Unseasonably warm and humid air will continue to hold firm across eastern Oklahoma through the rest of our Wednesday as breezy south winds persist. A few isolated showers will be possible through late afternoon, but our best chances of storms will come after sunset and into tonight as that cool front moves in.

Storms will fire up first northwest of the Tulsa metro during the early evening hours, eventually shifting toward Tulsa later tonight as we approach 10 p.m. There is a low-end risk of a few strong to severe storms across northeast Oklahoma, with large hail and damaging winds the main threats.

We may not see a completely solid line of storms, so some of us are likely to miss out on the rain tonight, particularly the further south you go as storms are expected to weaken later in the night as they move south of Tulsa.

North winds will begin to pick up by the early morning hours on Thursday as that cool front moves in. Drier and cooler air will eventually filter across eastern Oklahoma on Thursday, bringing us closer to fall-like temperatures for a change!
