The medical examiner released the cause of death of a man who died in the Tulsa County Jail in July, 2016. Mitchell Lee Godsey of Claremore died of "acute intoxication by methamphetamine," the autopsy report states.

He was found in his cell at 11:30 p.m. July 31, 2016.

"Now that we have cause of death, we can take our investigation to the next phase to determine what happened," said Casey Roebuck, spokesperson for the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.

The autopsy also notes the 59-year-old man had hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, an enlarged heart and diabetes, among other conditions.

The manner of Godsey's death is classified as accidental, the report states.
