Tulsans are "Standing with Standing Rock" to show their support for a tribe in North Dakota fighting the construction of an oil pipeline.

More than 900 Oklahomans showed support for the Standing Rock Sioux Thursday. Many have made trips to North Dakota.

Thursday night’s rally was the second of its size. It is meant to help the camp in North Dakota have enough supplies to make it through the winter.

Pawnee citizen Bobby Robedeaux said, "I do not feel that we have forgotten. I feel it's getting stronger, we understand that it's worse up there and they're not forgotten."

Robedeaux has made several trips to North Dakota.

"We're going to progressively move forward with prayer, and, you know, maybe affirmative action, and believe that something will come out of this," he said.

The rally at Veterans Park is another opportunity to gather support and donations to the cause.

Casey Camp-Horinek returned from the pipeline construction area too - she keeps a reminder of her arrest while being up in Standing Rock, saying police marked her arm after arresting her for trespassing.

"We were pepper sprayed, we were tear gassed, percussion bombs were set off, sound cannons were going on, they had dogs on leashes, they had tanks and snipers on the fields," Camp-Horinek explained.

She said protecting the water is worth all of that.

Camp-Horinek said, "Water is life, literally. And without that, none of us are going to be able to continue to live."

The group gathered and asked for gift cards to Lowe's so supplies could be bought for the camp in North Dakota.
