About 50 people in Tulsa enrolled for health insurance Saturday under the Affordable Care Act at the annual Morton Health Festival.

Some people are skeptical about what will happen next under President-elect Donald Trump's administration.

All attendees at the Morton Health Festival had an interest in improving their health, whether it had to do with their teeth, eyes, or their cholesterol.

"I'm apprehensive, like a lot of people,” said attendee Rhonda Packer. “The unknown, fear of the unknown, what's gonna happen?"

Packer is an artist and writer.

She's been covered by the Affordable Care Act since 2014 and is enrolling for next year, too.

But she knows what it's like to not have coverage.

"For a year, I didn't have any,” Packer explained. “I didn't have any. That's a lot of stress"

Ana Bonham with Morton Comprehensive Health Services says it's unclear how much premiums could change for Oklahomans next year.

"Premiums may be lower, some may be just a tid bit higher," stated Bonham.

But she's confident in the coverage people are signing up for now.

"Everyone that enrolls will not be affected, whatsoever, for all of 2017, regardless of whatever change may occur," Bonham explained.

While it's unclear what will happen after that, Packer says Trump's recent interest in keeping parts of the law is encouraging.

"I feel assured,” said Packer. “He assured me in a lot of ways."

The deadline to enroll for insurance is December 15th in order to take effect by the first of the year.

Morton will also be offering enrollment help on December 17th and January 28th.
