Webster Students Install Edible Food Forest At Challenger 7 Park

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Webster High school students and other volunteers spent Saturday installing an edible food forest at Challenger 7 Park.

The Tulsa health department says this project is going to help the community have access to more nutritious food.

They also say the forest is better for the city because it requires less mowing and is self-sustaining.

“They are taking a lot of the dirt,” said Derek Phillps of Webster High School. “We are picking weeds out of the garden and planting flowers, planting plants, just growing, trying to get everything to build a better look for the park.”

The project is part of an initiative by the Tulsa Health Department, Green Country Permaculture and Pathways to Health.
