A man is in jail after police say a victim caught him breaking into his car and held the suspect there until officers arrived.

The suspect is 22-year-old Isaac Franklin, and he told police after they read him his Miranda rights that he was so high, he didn't remember what cars he had broken into.

Franklin is now in jail on attempted burglary, having a weapon, and multiple drug complaints

Around 12:30 a.m. at apartments near 51st and Memorial, a man saw the lights on in his car,  went outside and found a man - later identified as Franklin, taking things from his car.

The victim held the man until police could get there - and after they did - they found several items on Franklin and in a backpack.

The arrest report shows those items include: meth, pot, Xanax, burglary tools, an Air Soft gun. Franklin said some of those things weren't his.

The arresting officer said in his report that Franklin admitted to breaking into cars by checking door handles, but didn't recall everything he did because he was high.

Police told us they don't believe Franklin forced his way into any cars, but again was just checking unlocked car doors. Franklin was booked on complaints of possession of meth, Oxycodone, marijuana and Xanax; possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, attempted burglary from vehicle, possession of paraphernalia and public intoxication.
