The Oklahoma Hall of Fame welcomed six new members Thursday night as part of its 2016 class, including Thunder guard Russell Westbrook.

NBA Hall of Famer and six-time champion Michael Jordan was on hand to present Westbrook into the Hall.

And when Jordan says you've done great things on the basketball court and off the basketball court and tells the community that they should be proud of you and your loyalty, that's high praise. Those were the words Jordan said when inducting Westbrook, words Westbrook appreciates greatly.

"M.J.'s one of those guys, obviously, I'm a member of his brand. He's a guy that if he kind of respects you and the things that you do, he takes time out of his day to be able to come to Oklahoma City to do this for me which is an amazing honor and happy to have him here," said Westbrook.

Westbrook also said it's an honor to be inducted in a state he's grown to love.

"It's been good to me and my family,” said Westbrook. “Obviously, I've been in Oklahoma for nine years. It's been good to me since then, and I'm happy to be here. To be inducted into the Hall of Fame is definitely an honor, something I thought I'd never be able to do, especially growing up. It's just more how I relate to them, how they used to play back in the day, how it was physical and how it is played today. Now, it's played a little differently than it was back then, so they can relate to that a little more."
