After a few days of chilly weather, we're moving back to a minor warm up for the next few days with a chance of showers and storms Tuesday and Tuesday night.

This system should exit the area Wednesday morning across eastern Oklahoma with pleasant conditions for most of the extended thanksgiving holiday.  A few systems will move quickly across the area later this week but only the late weekend system may have enough moisture for a few showers.

The cold and dry air mass is slowly moving east as our next system approaches our area. South winds will be increasing speeds later today and a modified low level air mass will be moving across eastern and south central Texas today and possibly into central or eastern Oklahoma Tuesday.   Dew point temperature in the mid-50s will reach our area about the same time the forcing from our approaching system will arrive.

A few strong to near severe storms may be possible Tuesday night if the low level moisture can return before the system arrives.   The current data keeps most of this weather to our south and southeast but it’s something we're going to monitor for the period.

Once the system exits the area Wednesday morning, we should be in good shape for most the Thanksgiving holiday with cool mornings and highs 60s.  Black Friday shopping should not be impacted by any kind of inconvenient weather other than some chilly morning temps despite a front moving across the area late Thursday night into Friday morning.

Friday will support north winds, sunshine (mostly) and highs in the lower 60s.   Friday morning early shoppers will experience temperatures in the upper 30s or lower 40s.

Our next system may arrive as your planning to return home Sunday or Monday in the form of a few showers across far eastern OK or western Arkansas.   We are watching data suggesting a big system with much colder air the first week of December.  Stay tuned.

Thanks for reading the Monday morning weather discussion and blog.

Have a super great day.
