Two significant earthquakes have rocked Oklahoma since Sunday. This comes nearly a month after a 5.0 magnitude quake rocked Cushing.

The first earthquake was originally reported as a 4.2 magnitude, but officials with the U.S. Geological Survey downgraded it to a 3.9 magnitude. It happened at 9:22 p.m. with an epicenter about eight miles east of Pawnee.

The second struck just before 3 a.m. Monday at a 3.6 magnitude. It's epicenter was about three miles north of Cushing.

No immediate damage was reported for either.

Scientists have raised concerns the recent spike in earthquakes is tied to the injection of wastewater back into the ground. Last month, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission released an action plan that may affect operations at more than 50 disposal wells.
