Fake Job Offer Lands Most Wanted Oklahoma Fugitive In Jail

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections used an offer of a job to arrest one of its 15 most wanted fugitives in Tulsa.

Agents say they got a tip Wesley Ross was looking for a job that paid cash, so they posed as a potential employer and told Ross they had a job for him at an vacant building in downtown Tulsa.

They say when Ross showed up, agents arrested him.

State Corrections Director Joe Allbaugh complimented the ploy used by the agents. 

“The tactics and resources used by the agents show determination and willingness to think outside the box,” Allbaugh said. “These are the characteristics an individual needs when tracking dangerous criminals to get them off the street and back into custody. I appreciate their efforts to apprehend criminals who leave custody in creative and innovative ways.”

The DOC says Wesley Ross was a parole absconder, who was last seen by his parole officer in November 2015. He was out on probation after serving time for possession of a firearm out of Muskogee County.
