Broken Arrow is looking for input Wednesday evening on how they can best make Rose District a place to live - not just to shop. The city says the Rose District is already a commercial success, but the community workshop planned at Central on Main is about getting feedback on how to update zoning to allow for more housing there.

That's because the city says the demand for living in the Rose District is growing.

City spokeswoman Krista Flasch says the Rose District runs from Elgin to Fort Worth, on Main Street, and a block east and west of Main.

I asked Flasch if the city was targeting any specific area or street corner in that corridor for housing, and she said "no" - and that tonight's meeting is "mainly to get plans in place to help developers or home owners know what guidelines to follow."

The city says they also want to eliminate development barriers in zoning, so  projects are more feasible.

The community workshop starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m., December 14, 2016, at 210 North Main Street. Here's a link for more info: Broken Arrow: Where Opportunity Lives.
