Police arrested a woman they say led dozens of officers on a chase that reached speeds of 90 miles per hour Thursday night from Owasso to Oologah.

The chase started just after 11 p.m. near 86th Street North on Highway 169 after several people called police to report a reckless driver.

Police said when they got behind her, she slowed down but as soon as they turned their lights on, she accelerated.

Police said the chase continued in Oologah near the intersection of Highway 169 and Highway 88 after police used stop sticks to flatten three of the tires on her Suburban. They attempted to keep driving but finally stopped at a convenience story but she refused to get out of the SUV, police said.

Officers said they had to use pepper balls and batons to get the woman to surrender.

They arrested the woman on complaints of reckless driving, eluding and suspicion of DUI, police said.
