Hundreds of people are now better-informed about the Affordable Care Act.

News On 6 teamed up with Morton Comprehensive Health Services Thursday evening help callers understand how to sign up for health coverage. The eight phone operators took nearly 350 calls in over three hours, which was about 100 calls an hour.

Many people wonder what will happen if the ACA is repealed.

Morton's Ana Bonham said for now, nothing is going to change.

"...At least for those people that have had insurance, that have insurance, everything is going to stay the same for 2017. So there's no reason to worry about that. For those reasons I say, get insurance," Bonham said.

You have until Monday, December 19 to enroll for coverage beginning January 1.

Morton is holding a sign-up event Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its north Lansing clinic.
