Hundreds of Tulsans were left in the dark Christmas morning after a driver ran into a power pole overnight.  Police said the driver hit a pole near 36th Street North and Peoria then took off.

The pole snapped, and police say the driver dragged part of it while leaving the scene around 1:30 a.m.

Our camera was there as the power pole sparked. Public Service of Oklahoma came out and turned off the power, working through the morning to restore it just before 6 a.m.

Roughly 500 people were out of power overnight.
