TULSA, Oklahoma -

For many people, tax return season means getting a little extra change in your pocket. We found one spending trend you might not expect.

Johnny Black is the owner of Spaded and Jaded Tattoo Shop. He said they're in the middle of the tax return season rush.

"They might get their whole forearm tattooed from the wrist to the elbow or even their shoulder to the wrist, just the bigger tattoos that aren't $200-300  bucks, they are like $2,000 or $3,000 bucks."

It's one of the busiest times of the year for this veteran tattoo artist. And Black says the buzz is easy to understand.

"During the rest of the year they are taking care of their family, this time, they get that extra check, they weren't counting on and they are gonna go spend it on themselves. Why not?" he said.

Black counts on the extra business the season brings each year.

"I have clients now from like eight years that I know that they are coming in during tax season to get that cool tattoo because they have the extra money," he said.

Black said because of the extra change in their pockets, his tax return customers usually go big.

"They will try to book a whole sleeve or a nice chest piece, with their tax returns, there you go, that's a good reward for working all year for the man," said Johnny Black, owner of Spaded and Jaded Tattoo Shop.

And he wouldn't have it any other way

"We love to see the jump, don't get me wrong, we love that. Bring your tax money to us. I'm thankful for it, that's for sure. I know these guys are thankful for it," he said, pointing to his co-workers.
