Man Struck, Killed On Tulsa Street

A man was in the roadway when he was struck by a car on Garnett. A man was in the roadway when he was struck by a car on Garnett.
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Police say a man was struck and killed while crouched down on a Tulsa street early Wednesday. Officers said the accident happened around 5:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Garnett near 53rd Street South.

The victim was taken to a hospital by EMSA where he was pronounced dead. Police said the man is believed to be in his early 30s.

The southbound lanes of Garnett were closed while officers investigated then reopened around 7 a.m. 

Officers say the man driving the car was interviewed by police. He was not issued a citation, according to Officer Leland Ashley. Neither driver or his passenger were hurt.
