ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Two people are in Rogers County Jail accused of burglarizing an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper's late grandmother's home.

Deputies said Christopher Westbrook and Krystal Byrd had stolen items in their possession when they were taken into custody.

The trooper learned the home had been broken into earlier this week, authorities said. His grandmother had passed away, and no one was supposed to be inside the house.

News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright said the trooper got a unique and specific description of the suspect's car and spotted it the very next day. The trooper then called Rogers County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they pulled the vehicle over and found Westbook and Byrd inside.

Records show Westbrook, 32, was carrying a pill bottle with the grandmother's name on it when he was arrested.  His shoes matched a print found on the door that had been kicked in, deputies said.

Authorities said Byrd, 29, had drugs in her purse and a spoon that belonged to the trooper's grandmother as well.

Both were arrested on complaints of burglary, unlawful entry, theft, drug possession and possession of paraphernalia.
