Some NE Oklahoma Schools Close Due To Power Outages

<p>Power outages in some northeastern Oklahoma towns forced school officials to close schools Friday, May 19, and for one of those schools, their last day of school has been pushed to next week.&nbsp;</p>

Power outages in some northeastern Oklahoma towns forced school officials to close schools Friday, May 19, and for one of those schools, their last day of school has been pushed to next week. 

Checotah Public Schools announced Friday morning that its summer feeding program at the high school was canceled for the day and cited lack of electricity. 

Muskogee Public Schools is closed Friday due to power outages. 

Porter Public Schools' last day of school was set for Friday, but will be closed due to lack of power. School officials announced that the last day of school will now be Monday, May 22. 

School Closings

The Wagoner County Courthouse will also be closed Friday to make repairs following Thursday night's storms.
